What is a Healthy Church?

When you think of a healthy church, what comes to mind? Is it size, budget, or leadership? How do we define an ideal church, and how can we recognize one?

At this conference, we’ll explore key questions: What are we building? How should we build it? What will it cost to build this way?

This event is designed for all church members, pastors, and leaders, challenging and equipping them for faithful ministry.

Join us on November 24th for a pre-conference and November 25th for a full-day gathering with speakers Mark Dever, Paul Martin, Sean Sheeran, Rhys Plant, and Steve Kim. Connect with like-minded brothers for a day of fellowship, reflection, and biblical insight on church health.

Meet the Main Sessions Speaker

Senior Pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church

Mark Dever serves as the senior pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC. A Duke graduate, Dr. Dever holds a M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a Th.M. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Ecclesiastical History from Cambridge University. He is the president of 9Marks and has taught at a number of seminaries. Dr. Dever has also authored several books and articles. He and his wife Connie live and minister on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

  • How should we build it?

    “Theology drives method…God’s methods determine ours…the gospel both enables and informs our participation in God’s purposes…faithfulness to the gospel must be our measure of success, not results...this gospel alone deserves to shaped and evaluate both our methods and our ministries.”

  • What will it cost us to build like this?

    “…visible results cannot be the metric by which we measure our ministries, which raises a disturbing question: What if the immediate results are not what you envisioned?…If you commit to building a healthy church on the foundation of the gospel, then prepare yourself for a cross-shaped life and ministry, because the gospel is the gospel of the cross.”

 FAQs

  • Tickets are final sale. We do however offer the transferring of tickets if required. All you have to do is send an email to sergei@hespelerbaptist.ca and let us know the name of the new ticket holder.

  • No, your ticket allows you access to main stage and break out sessions, as well as any other events at the conference. It does not however include meals and accommodations. The conference will have many refreshments available throughout. Hespeler Baptist Church is also conveniently located in walking distance of many restaurants and grocery stores. In addition, we have a discounted hotel rate.

  • We can’t promise a livestream at this point, but our sessions will be video recorded and available on this website after the conference.

  • YYZ - Toronto is located 40-50 min away from Hespeler Baptist Church.

    You can also fly into YKF if you’re able to. It’s located in Kitchener, On a 15 min drive from Hespeler Baptist Church. We won’t be able to provide any shuttles for these airports
